Miles Morales' second outing as Spider-Man begins with him struggling to balance his superhero life and personal relationships. Having reconnected with Gwen Stacy, who has become a close friend and confidant, Miles is trying to find his place in the world as both a teenager and a web-slinging hero. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when he's recruited by Nick Fury to join the Spider Society, a mysterious organization comprised of Spider-People from various dimensions. This interdimensional collective is led by Spider-Man Noir, a gritty and no-nonsense version of Peter Parker who has been tasked with containing a threat that imperils the fabric of reality. As Miles navigates this new world, he meets an array of Spider-People, each with their unique abilities, personalities, and backstories. There's Spider-Ham, a cartoonish pig-like Spider-Man from a universe where everything is anthropomorphized; Spider-Gwen, a punk-rock-inspired version of Gwen Stacy who has become a skilled fighter and inventor; Spider-Kid, a young boy from the future who possesses incredible powers; Peni Parker, aka SP//dr, a Japanese schoolgirl with a mech-powered spider-suit; and Spider-Man 2099, a futuristic version of Peter Parker who has adapted to life in a dystopian world. Throughout his journey, Miles must confront his own identity and sense of belonging as he faces off against various foes, including the villainous Phil Coulson, who seeks to exploit the Multiverse for his own gain. Along the way, Miles also grapples with the consequences of being a hero, particularly when it comes to dealing with the emotional toll that comes with saving the world. As the stakes grow higher and the Spider-People face off against an army of monstrous creatures known as the Beast, Miles must tap into his newfound connections with these alternate versions of himself to save not only their reality but also his own. Will he be able to find a way back home, or will he become lost in the vast expanse of the Multiverse?
